[1]If we just consider the commercial profit, it is evidently that both China and Canada will benefit from the project in exploiting oil sands in Canada. For China is developing very quickly now and the lack of energy sources like oil and gas has greatly hinder its advancing step. In a word it has become a big market for energy sources. However, it can not self-support. For this respect, it is deemed to find support abroad. As to Canada, it has a great desire to decrease its dependence on the U.S.A in oil trades in order to make most profit. And China evidently is the first and best choice judged by its powerful thirst for energy to help fuel its growth. Canada has goods (oil) when China has the market for these goods, it is perfect, why stay on? Everything is ready for them, and they both will benefit from the cooperation.
[2]However, a pole has two ends just as a sword has two edges. The exploit of oil sands will have some (maybe great) impact on the local environment without doubt. There maybe many reasons for this, when the lack of attention must be the main point and the most dangerous one. As we know, the oil sands region is always remote from its city and town, and the environmental damage will receive little attention from the public. So the best way to go on the project discussed here without making any bad impact on the local environment maybe that, it is a good deal of course, but the related environment protection should be scheduled at the same time.; 0
